The Odindo Chronicles
Myself and a number of my cousins were blessed with my grandmother’s middle name: Odindo. This is a traditional, masculine name of the Luo tribe in Kenya associated with a person who has been “taken in” or “adopted”. In our household this name holds power; power to be selfless, nurturing and a quiet force. However, with great power comes (say it with me now) great responsibility. So the following posts aim to explore and articulate the struggles that come with holding this very energy. So please empathise and, most importantly, enjoy!
